Mambo | 18 years ago # |
yep mine's still the same! |
NateDawg | 18 years ago # |
It seems that If you appened the number two to any of the address it will work, for instance, https://www.google.com/accounts/EditUserServiceData2?service=mail |
Sam Davyson | 18 years ago # |
Hmm. I have the old version still. Not sure I like the UI in the screenshots. We'll have to wait and see. |

ok as if this AM here (canada) – I cant see any changes..
This must be a roll out , as some services of goog's are also having hicups |
Art-One | 18 years ago # |
I'm living in Belgium, I don't have it neither. It's not a regional roll out I suppose. Or they must be choosing latin language based countries first ;-). |
Dan Cousar | 18 years ago # |
I see the new look too. :)
Check it out: http://cowza.com/google-accounts.jpg http://cowza.com/google-accounts2.jpg

and
https://www.google.com/accounts/ManageAccount2 (note the "2" at the end) still give me the old page..... |
Mrrix32 | 18 years ago # |
I got thew new layout. I've got 22 under "my services" and one under "Try something new" (Google Alerts) |
dpneal | 18 years ago # |
does anybody have adsense under their account services? i use it under the same account, but i think they may have forgotten about this on the accounts page. |
Jake's View | 18 years ago # |
I still have the old designs, but I looked at the new designs. I like them better. |
David Hetfield | 18 years ago # |
<<...and one under "Try something new" (Google Alerts)>>
something NEW? Google Alerts is something new?!
as i recall, Google Alerts has launched since 2004.. isnt it? :/ |
Pierre S | 18 years ago # |
But you may have never subscribed to it, or cancelled your alerts |
David Hetfield | 18 years ago # |
ohh and dpneal ; refering to this post: << I've got a link to the "mobile download console" on mine though.... mobile.google.com/mmconsole/ba ...
why would i have this??? >>
when you click on the Sign In button (right side on top of the screen) you get a bad request..: << Bad Request Your client has issued a malformed or illegal request. >>
anyone else get this bad request thing?!
|
David Hetfield | 18 years ago # |
<<But you may have never subscribed to it, or cancelled your alerts>>
i dont think Google will consider it to a new service..no matter if you have use it or not... |
Dan Cousar | 18 years ago # |
Could it be that you need to view the mobile download console...on a phone? :-P Thats how I interpret a bad "client" request. As a browser is a client to a server such as apache etc.
Also, the "Try Something New" section is there to offer you a service that you currently don't use. I have Alerts under mine too because I don't currently use this service. |
Tony Ruscoe | 18 years ago # |
Damn those Google monkeys! I've still not got it!
dpneal wrote: >> I've got a link to the "mobile download console" on >> mine though.... >> >> why would i have this???
I guess you followed links from one of these posts about this service:
http://ruscoe.net/blog/2006/06/google-rs2-ssd-and-mobile-download.asp http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2006-06-10-n33.html
BTW, if anyone finds a service in this new account area that's not already on this list, please let me know:
Google Account Service Names http://ruscoe.net/google/google-account-service-names/
I'm pretty sure that covers most services now. You should be able to sign up for any of theses where there's not an error in the "New" or "Edit" columns. |
Tony Ruscoe | 18 years ago # |
> does anybody have adsense under their account services? > i use it under the same account, but i think they may have > forgotten about this on the accounts page.
Interestingly, I use my primary Gmail address for my AdSense account but with a different password (since AdSense was more fussy). I recently asked Google if they could link it to my Gmail account and the said the following:
<< Unfortunately, we aren't able to update your AdSense account to a Google Account at this time. As you may have noticed, please note that your Google Account and AdSense accounts are not linked. We do hope to extend this option to AdSense publishers in the future and will be sure to let you know when it becomes available. >>
So I asked what would happen if I set another AdSense account up using my Gmail account and they replied with this...
<< Thanks for following up with us. It is currently not possible to set up another AdSense account using your Google Account. If you set up another account using usernamegmail.com as your email login, it still will not be linked to your Google Account.
Please know that we're currently working hard to link Google AdSense to your Google Account, but at this time, it isn't possible to do so. We'll be sure to let you know when this becomes available, at which time you'll be able to access AdSense through your Google Account. >> |
Mrrix32 | 18 years ago # |
<<Google will consider it to a new service..no matter if you have use it or not>>
I think it's because I've never used it. they're using it as in New to me, rather than a new feature. Google put that catogory there not me :-) |
Mrrix32 | 18 years ago # |
I just visted the login pages of RS2, SSD and Mobile Download Console, and the last two have appeared on my list of services (although RS2 and Alerts havn't) So google is telling me that I use serveces that havn't been released yet! |
Tony Ruscoe | 18 years ago # |
Mrrix32: What icons does it show for them? Can you post a screenshot? Where do they link to? |
Mrrix32 | 18 years ago # |
<<What icons does it show for them?>> It has the little Labs ones (like on spreadsheet, sketchup, Notebook and others)
<<Where do they link to?>> The Mobile Download console links to: http://mobile.google.com/mmconsole/base
SSD Links to Google.com |
Mrrix32 | 18 years ago # |
http://lh3.google.com/mrrix32/RKBIfezxABI/AAAAAAAAACo/E4UYxtXkZcA/account.JPG?imgmax=512 Should be a screen shot of the services including MDC and SSD
If not go to http://picasaweb.google.com/mrrix32/Misc/photo#4945032096536133650 |
Tony Ruscoe | 18 years ago # |
Cheers. Shame it doesn't give any more clues as to what those services are though... |
Ionut Alex. Chitu | 18 years ago # |
And what's SSD? |
Tony Ruscoe | 18 years ago # |
People seem to think it's something to do with Simple Storefront Distribution, although I'm sure nobody's been able to confirm that theory... |
David Hetfield | 18 years ago # |
i guess no one can help me with the 2005 account ha?! http://blogoscoped.com/forum/41494.html#id41535 |
Sam Davyson | 18 years ago # |
No change here still (UK). |
Ionut Alex. Chitu | 18 years ago # |
If you look at this picture (http://picasaweb.google.com/mrrix32/Misc/photo#4945032096536133650) you'll see both ssd and mmc services. How can Google put links to services that aren't yet live? |
Mrrix32 | 18 years ago # |
<<How can Google put links to services that aren't yet live?>> I was wondering that. Have some of the google servers gone down? I can't get to Web albums or the accounts page. The accounts page says that I blocked their cookies, I tured the feature all the way off and I still get the same |
Mrrix32 | 18 years ago # |
Seems to be working now. Alerts is still under "Try something new" even though I've signed in to it and even set a alert |
TOMHTML | 18 years ago # |
Strange, I dont have that 2 services in my account...
~~
update, I got SSD now. It appears only when I tried to connect (2 times) to https://www.google.com/accounts/Login?service=ssd ... |
TOMHTML | 18 years ago # |
Same thing for "MDC" service, I tried to login and hop! New service in my account Mobile Download Console |
Art-One | 18 years ago # |
Do not have the new page neither. (BE) (You lucky ...) |
Adam B. | 18 years ago # |
I have the new page.
Odd that I have the moble download console. I've never used it....Tried the link once, but it never worked.

its weird.. the link here takes me to my /ig pages after I type in pwd
https://www.google.com/accounts/Login?service=ssd |
Mrrix32 | 18 years ago # |
<<its weird.. the link here takes me to my /ig pages after I type in pwd>> Yesterday it took me to www.google.com, now it takes me to my account page (the new style one). Does SSD have something to do with the account settings? |
Mrrix32 | 18 years ago # |
As the SSD thing is redirecting to the Google Accounts page could it have something to do with the "authorized websites" feature (that dissapeared) Did we ever find out what that was? http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2006-06-08.html#n75 |
Jake's View | 18 years ago # |
I still can't get to the new account page. I looked at the screenshots and liked it better, but I still can't get there. |
Niraj Sanghvi | 18 years ago # |
Same here. I imagine it's their typical gradual rollout. Looks like a major improvement in design. |
iZeitgeist | 18 years ago # |
I can access the new Google Accounts page from any of the services account settings (Gmail, IG, etc...)
Otherwise, I use:
https://www.google.com/accounts/ManageAccount?hl=en
Some screenshots:

I have MDC and SSD too but they are still not working... |

Wouter Schut | 18 years ago # |
Could someone post the raw html?
Btw this page would be great to measure how google you are ;). |
NateDawg | 18 years ago # |
ouch! (but partailly true :) |
Ionut Alex. Chitu | 18 years ago # |
Actually there isn't anything exciting about the new page. Except for the new services, you can't access anyway. |
Aaron Myers | 18 years ago # |

it's finally up for me:D
|
Haochi | 18 years ago # |
You can see it's v2, the "2" at the end of the url |
Tony Ruscoe | 18 years ago # |
And finally for me too. I've got:
AdSense, AdWords, Alerts, Analytics, Base, Browser Sync, Calendar, Co-op, Finance, Froogle, Froogle Shopping List, Google Answers, Google Bookmarks, Google in Your Language, Google Mail, Google Print Publisher Program, Google Reader, Groups, Mobile Download Console, News, Notebook, Page Creator, Personalized Homepage, Personalized Search, Picasa, Sitemaps, SketchUp, Spreadsheets, SSD, Video
Any more? |
Sam Davyson | 18 years ago # |
FInally here too. I have everything on my list except AdWords.
I am not too impressed by the change. The length of the list is overwhelming. |
Aaron Myers | 18 years ago # |
It's finally here! :) |
Tony Ruscoe | 18 years ago # |
Found one that's not on my list (but is on Haochi's) – orkut!
Sam Davyson said:
<< I am not too impressed by the change. The length of the list is overwhelming. >>
Agreed. I guess Google even forgot how many services they had! Even a layout like this would be too much for an account management page IMHO:
http://www.google.com/options/
|
/pd | 18 years ago # |
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.. Now what ??
Big Deal!!! I am so so zissed off .. nothing ..nada.. my list goes right down.. way down.. the UI sucks..
|
Caleb E | 18 years ago # |
at least it's an improvement. I just got mine sometime in the last 15 minutes, so for those of you who don't have it yet, be patient ;) |
David Hetfield | 18 years ago # |
mine has changed!! finally! after weeks of giving me the 2005 account, i access the new account (using checkout.google.com)
screenshot: http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/4794/newgoogleaccounts6ax.jpg
yeah me! :) |
Philipp Lenssen | 18 years ago # |
It's new here too! It doesn't fully work yet – "try something new" lists stuff that ought to be under "my services", as I'm using it already – but it looks much better than the old account page. |
Art-One | 18 years ago # |
I've got it finally too...
Not all my services are listed though and e.g. groups is also listed beneath 'try something new' but as I use groups a very long time it isn't that new for me...
The new layout is probably in function of the checkout thing. But i do not see the link right away, anybody does? |
/pd | 18 years ago # |
you will see that your checkout page data is now displayed under the left hnad side too!! |
Aaron Myers | 18 years ago # |
Yes, I saw that – I like the new design! |
David Hetfield | 18 years ago # |
<<it looks much better than the old account page>> youre right Philipp! it really does! the old one wasnt modern.. the new one is much more modern! |
iZeitgeist | 18 years ago # |
>> "try something new" lists stuff that ought to be under "my services", as I'm using it already >>
>> Not all my services are listed though and e.g. groups is also listed beneath 'try something new' but as I use groups a very long time it isn't that new for me... >>
I think all it means is that Google Groups is not linked yet to your Google account! Are you using the same password for both ?
Try loging to Groups this way and check back your accounts page:
https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=groups2 |
Tony Ruscoe | 18 years ago # |
BTW, the old link for "Mobile Download Console" – http://mobile.google.com/mmconsole/base – now redirects to http://www.google.com instead of producing this error page:
http://ruscoe.net/blog/uploads/google-mdc-oops.gif |
TOMHTML | 18 years ago # |
No, I get a weird 404 error because I'm redirected to : http://www.google.com/?gsessionid=hl5rigEnY8XXXXX |

iZeit: This worked for me fine. Any tips to have my adwords & my alerts linked? |
Art-One | 18 years ago # |
& Writely perhaps? |
Tony Ruscoe | 18 years ago # |
>> No, I get a weird 404 error because I'm redirected to : >> http://www.google.com/?gsessionid=hl5rigEnY8XXXXX
Sorry – yes, I should've said that you get redirected to www.google.com with a gsessionid querystring parameter appended to the URL, which errors on the first visit but then redirects to www.google.com after the gsessionid has been allocated on the first visit... |
iZeitgeist | 18 years ago # |
Art-One,
Adwords: https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=adwords Alerts: https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=alerts

I just have seen that the new version works in French too, from now on. And the "Mobile Download Console" link is also translated in French, so the launch is soon ;)
PS : unfortunately, in French, SSD is translated by "SSD" : no clue on what it could be... |
Haochi | 18 years ago # |
What about the M Scrapbook, any guesses? |
Bob Jones | 18 years ago # |
I guess its Mobile Notebook? |
Bob Jones | 18 years ago # |
The Mobile Download Centre link has changed again – now it redirects to Google homepage without gsessionid.
I hope launch is imminent. |
TOMHTML | 18 years ago # |
Ionut predicted that Mobile Download Centre "is a trimmed-down version of Google Base accessible from mobile phones that lets you manage your products." |
Bob Jones | 18 years ago # |
Possibly, it does have base in the URL. |
Art-One | 18 years ago # |
iZeitgeist: thx, this works now. What is special about those links? I did sign off via the sign off button and logged in again before, but than it did not work... |
Jake's View | 18 years ago # |
I've got the new version too! |
NateDawg | 18 years ago # |
Ionut is correct in his thinking. If you go to mobile.google.com/mmconsole/robots.txt you find this
# allow-all # # Google Base pages may be crawled by robots for the limited purpose of # including content from Google Base in publicly available search engines. # In order to automatically access data for any other purpose please contact # Google at gb-feedbackgoogle.com
User-agent: *
### END FILE ###
Granted, what the heck is a robots.txt file doing in a subdirectory? (don't ask why I tried this, lets just say weird obsession) But the text file comments clearly indicate that this is some sort of base extension.
One other thing, this is definitely for the mobile domain and not just a redirect trick (ie base.google.com/mobile or mobile.google.com/base). Changing the subdomain to "base" will give you a 404 |

hey, it looks like the new google accounts is out. With a two column layout. Personal info on the left and "My Services" on the right. Very reminiscent of the More Google Products page but my list on the left goes on forever.. hehe. Hopefully they fix that soon and use the space more efficeintly. |
Mambo | 18 years ago # |
