I am very confused about this thing. It looks like it is well integrated with GSearch etc (and presumable Froogle) but I can't see any live examples of this. |
Well, excluding UK is certainly a mistake – how they expect it to gain support if you can only sell/buy in the US is beyond me.
I don't even understand why – its not like videos where legal content restrictions do happen, Visa and Mastercard are a world wide buisness – what difference does it make to Google?
Maybe they were not able to work out exchange rates very well – like the builtin Google feature. |
I don't think the issue is currency, rather legislation.
If you remember, Paypal was also slow to roll out coverage to Europe.
If Google is doing the transaction they might also be liable if illegal material is sold in any given country. Since laws differ from country to country, I suspect this is a rather tricky thing to implement globally, however, I am disappointed that Europe was not in the initial roll out. |
