can anyone explain to me what does Google Strayin mean, and what is it for?

I assume the phrase "Google strayin" was used somewhere in your email like this:

"With all this talk of Google straying from its main objectives in 2006..."

The word "straying" basically means "to deviate from" or "get side-tracked".

More precise definition here: http://www.answers.com/straying

If it was near a date, Google Calendar would have parsed it and asked if you want to add it to your calendar.

Does that help?

dont think so..
it was neither..(neither Google Calendar nor somewhere in my email..)

although the definition was helpful.. thanks :)

and how come Google provides this service?!(if you can call it a service? :/)

Quote from the non-related post:

Quick add

Also, Gmail now supports the auto-detection of events, similar to the “quick add” feature of Google Calendar. For example, when someone emails you the text “Do you want to join me for dinner the day after tomorrow, 6pm? I’d love to see you,” then Gmail sticks an “Add to calendar” link to the right side of the email – in this case, incorrectly interpreting event (“dinner the day after”) and date (which would’ve been Monday, not Sunday):

David, see the last paragraph on the link Alex posted:

Don't believe it? Send yourself a gmail including the phrase "Join me for a talk about Google Straying tomorrow 6pm" and see if you don't get the "Add to calendar" prompt again...

and it had the following:

<<Would you like to...

Add to calendar
talk about Google Stra...
Sat, Jul 8 2006 6pm >>

("Google Stra"... and not "talk of Google strayin..." but its ok :))

thanks once again guys

It's probably this news article:
http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2006/07/03/google-staying-focused-on-search/

The article starts like this:

"With all this talk today of Google straying into the large forest of unfound successes..."

The omniscient Google obviously assumed that there was a talk about Google Straying scheduled for today.
