While Google opens new sites for video they still haven't made it possible to take purchased video (not open access) and view it offline, let's say on an airplane. I'm really surprised that this isn't a feature Google Video offers yet. Services like Vongo, CinemaNow, and MovieLink allow you to view movies offline.
Even AOL's Hi-Q allows you to download near DVD quality video and watch them offline. http://hiqvideo.aol.com/
These days Guba.com has done deals for video with Sony and Warner Brothers and Plus, Guba's free upload and hosting service allows you to upload your content and then automatically makes the content available in Flash, iPod (ready for download) and PSP. These are also free services.
