I am working on launching a new (community like – /pd no details now, please ;-)) site. The main user is called Corsin. The domain is around 20 days old. On a Google search for "Corsin", this page is on position 2, while much older sites (like ethz.ch) and with more backlinks are behind. Now I am speculating, that Google trusts wikis more than "old-style" websites. Could this be possible? Any information on that? |
In my experience it happens often that fresh sites jump instantly to high rankings, and then later on get somewhat buried...
So, what's http://barcamp.ch ? By the way there's gonna be a barcamp in Berlin the end of August! |
Google is easily fooled if you have a page with little / almost on content. Corsin has a big weight in that page. It's in the title, URL, h 1, first phrase, many links in that page. |
