so they named a number. you have an interesting family history. for that name to be used in mathematics, people need to be able to use it with impunity. names of numbers should be treated like gpl

Agreed, names for numbers should not be trademarked/ patented/ copyrighted.

basicaly, edward kasner used "googol" in his book a long time ago and when google went public his granddaughter wanted google to pay her for use of the word. bunch of bs, ended a long time ago.
