What's on YOUR desktop?

(like the credit card comemrcial 'what's in your wallet?)

I thought it might be interesting to see what other's desktops look like. Artwork, icons, etc. We'd need a place to post entries. I change my wallpaper constantly- must be a disorder of some type. Today's (so far) is Dilbert.

Philipp, what do you think?

But a ton of people have personal stuff on their desktops. We techies could always black it out, but for the non-techies...

Mine is showing my wife and kids or my companies logo depending on if I have to give a presentation or not...

For the rest I keep it as clean as possible. For that reason I've created a cleanup map in which I drop everything that shouldn't mess up my desktop...

My desktop is gray. I put a couple of project-related folder to the right side, the trash at the bottom right, and otherwise it's mostly cleaned up. The Windows task bar is hidden and expands when I hover to the left border. There's a lonely putty.exe somewhere to the right side, a Word file, and an MP3, my other application shortcuts are all in the middle of the task bar.

To keep my desktop clean I have a "temp" folder where I simply drop everything I don't use again immediately... sounds like what Art-one is doing!

Mine is normally full of screenshots and downloads from sites. I could channel them to go somewhere else but I would just never look at them, so I have them firing onto my desktop from where I file them or more often... delete them.

..but a true techie would have a desktop neat as a pin, so all those personal items would be dragged into a folder saying 'personal!'

My mac's desktop. Not that much right now. You should see it when it's full!

Brinke, just paste the full URL of an image and it will automatically work... no special syntax needed.

That´s mine. I have to clean it up – too many needless icons.
