I wished the Googleplex was over here and that I could experiment with the free Wifi... :-(

The "coverage holes" don't appear to be related to the known propagation characteristics of radio waves.

Firstly, radio waves don't leave polygon-shaped coverage holes. Secondly, many of the so-called "coverage holes" have access points right on their edges.

Perhaps by "coverage hole" it means "an area within which we are trying to set up more access points".

The Google blog offically announces their WIFI initive (basically confirming what we already found :)-

So now the coverage extends to (most) of Mountain View...

I hope they would get San Francisco, and then the rest of the Bay Area, soon.
