Here's the problem.

My wife and I share the DSL connection. DSL comes in from the wall, goes into the router, and then it goes to her PC and mine.

Called DSL provider: we have a strong signal.

Yet:

Maybe once every day or two--I lose the connection, usually for just 30 seconds to a minute. Her PC never does, tho. Once mine was out for five minutes or so, had to reboot router, and it came back. Once had to reboot it several times before it came back. Usually, tho, just 30 seconds tops.

We tried changing the ports in the router that they are connected to- no change.

What am I missing? This is a recent development, never happened before.

I am appreciative of any responses.

Specs:
Dell Dimension 4500-WinXP.
IBM laptop-Win XP.
AT&T Yahoo DSL
Linksys Router

Brinke, I suppose the DSL is terminating on the router i.s.o. on your pc's? I suppose the pc's are connected through Ethernet connections to your pc's?

strange..

try to re-install your drivers on y-o-u-r pc (the router drivers of course), and see if the problem is solved..

if not, talk to your internet provider and tell them the problem
im sure theyll tell you to replace the current router you own with a different router (no money added!)..

that should solve the problem..
