The fonts are getting bigger and bigger and bigger (because the <span> is not </span> clsoed)

I don't see it, but my IE6 is corrupted as I have IE7 here as well...

Now the question is, which browsers behave correct? Firefox with not enlarging the font or Internet Explorer with enlarging the font?

The page doesn't validate, so browsers may do with it whatever they want ;)

Whilst there's no right or wrong answer here, I would say that FF is the "most" correct. It would be fair to assume the user meant to close the SPAN tags before closing the P tag – otherwise, the nesting of the tags would be totally wrong.

But then again, who really knows what the user intended to do if they didn't write valid (X)HTML?
