Go to http://www.google.co.in/intl/en/options/
there you will see Groups links
http://smartjean4u.googlepages.com/g1.GIF

now
Go to http://labs.google.com/ there in the graduates of lab you will see
Google Groups 2
http://smartjean4u.googlepages.com/g2.GIF

In Groups it has Desc "Create mailing lists and discussion groups"
In Google Groups 2 it has Desc " Create and join searchable discussion groups and mailing lists"

My question is Both of them directs to the same page then whats the real difference between them

Can anyone just explain please ?

The "Google Groups" service was superseded by what was originally known as "Google Groups 2 (Beta)" some time ago. IIRC, "Google Groups" was originally just a Usenet archive, whereas "Google Groups 2" allowed you to create your own groups and mailing lists hosted by Google.

"Google Groups 2" is now simply known as "Google Groups" which it replaced some time ago. I guess they've just not changed its name on Labs because it was known as Google Groups 2 before it graduated.

No problem. I just found this to perhaps confirm what I was saying:

From: http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:www.google.com/intl/pl/corporate/timeline.html (cached version)

<< [2004: November – December]

In December Google product launches include Google Groups 2, a new version of the venerable Usenet archive of 1 billion posts on thousands of topics that Google has managed since 2001. Now Google Groups enables users to create and manage their own email groups. >>

However, this has now been updated to this version though, dropping the "2" from its name.
