This isn't a gmail bug, this has to do with the original message. I've seen this before in my hotmail acct and in ms outlook. the spammer did something wrong and put the body in the subject. It's even weirder when there's HTML (the raw HTML code shows up)

Paste the source of the e-mail. (more options -> show orginal)

Sankar, can you send me the source of the email ("more options" -> "show original") at: kfox at google? I'll pass it along.

Thanks,
Kevin

I could replicate that by sending an email with a huge subject from a Yahoo account. Gmail shortens the subject when sending a mail, but keeps it intact when receiving one.

This could be accidental or it could be an attempt to get around google's filters to effect the ads. I've seen in the last two week a couple of emails with keywords being stuffed into font tags that had nothing to do with the message (not that the message made sense any ways :) Anyhow, neat find.
