"Today, we’re announcing the launch of a new AdWords feature enabling advertisers to have a much more detailed picture of invalid click activity in their account. The metrics of “invalid clicks” and “invalid clicks rate” will show virtually all the invalid clicks affecting an account."

Will this actually stem click fruad ?? |
I think it has less to do with stemming click fraud and more to do with Google providing customers with a clearer picture of what's happening on their account.
This should give a reasonable guide to an Adwords client that someone may be attacking them deliberately – just look for spikes in invalid clicks.
Why? A recent class action was probably pretty good impetus! Several of the plaintiffs claimed that Google did not provide them with enough details regarding click fraud, and that it was too difficult for them to investigate the details. I'm sure Google are hoping this will either: a) Help Adwords customers b) Help Google in the courtroom c) All of the above |
