Would you have any problems using Gmail due to privacy issues?

Or do you already use Gmail, and what is your experience with it?

I am currently using Gmail and do not have any issues with its privacy policies. Quit frankly, it is simply an amazing email service that represents the first leap forward for email in quite some time.

As far as those privacy issues, I really feel like they are applicable to email in general, not just Gmail. Whether it's Gmail, Hotmail, your company's server, or one sitting on your desk, your emails are going to pass through servers that you do not own. The risk of them being intercepted is always present. It's something everyone should simply keep in mind when using email.

Gmail isn't creepy. The guy is mainly being paranoid.

I've always loved web based email. I've been using pop mail for the past 2 years but I would switch back (forwarding my pop mail) to web based email in a sec, if there's a good free offer and Gmail seems to fit that description from what I've read so far.

The relevant ads won't bother me but I still think people are right to ask so much question about Gmail's policy ... better safe then sorry.

Can somebody pleased send me an invite? I know almost everyone online is asking this very question! But I am a heavy e-mail user who commutes for my job, and a gig of storage would be fantastic for work! I will beta test the thing and be sure to help iron out any problems with the service. I'm not special or more deserving than anyone else, but you'd have a truly appreciative human being thanking you.

If possible, please send an invite to: belledujour[put at-character here]spymac.com

Thanks!

No Gmails available here... I don't have any spare invites to hand out.

Try http://www.gmailswap.com to get an invite. I traded a Commodore 64 for mine.

I like Gmail, and I don't have a problem with the ads. It's very handy having a high-cap webmail account around

I belive its true that google is giving away emails to the fbi!

- 1 of the reasons i beleive is beacause of to catch people with Illegal Information or files contained in emails.

- Another Is probally to do with the NWO, Illumantis Conspiracy! Google wants to know you better! The NWO wants more information about us so they can control us.

- Think about it, Why would google give away over 2gb (Increasing Space)!!

- Google Servers Keep Your Deleted Mail!

They give you increasing storage space to keep you on their site, and earn money from advertising (like any company does)

And "Google Servers Keep Your Deleted Mail!" is just FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt). It is not true at all, someone misread the privacy policy and started telling everyone they never delete your mail.. do you really think anyone – even Google – have enough space to keep not only everyone's emails but everyone's deleted emails? They are removed from the server as soon as possible.

Google has plenty of cash to fund all of these accounts, the space isn't a continuing cost, once you buy a hard drive, you don't have to pay a monthly fee to keep it. But google's income is a continuing income, which allows them to continue to add more and more space as more and more users log on. I am not sure on whether or not they keep your deleted email, just like I am not sure if they keep your deleted search history, but I do know that all of the deleted items will be kept in some gigantic conglomerate of data that would take quite some time to sort through.

Please, someone can tell me if Gmail will delete your acccount contents as Yahoo! does if you do not login for a certain period of time (3-4 months I think it is for Yahoo).

Thanks

I have no concerns at all about my privacy with Gmail. The odds of someone caring about something that I say, and doing something about it, and that action coming back to me, are so low that it's meaningless.

I DO worry about spam. I just don't like it.

One thing is certain.
I had a minor issue with my gmail account. I contacted support. After a couple of bizarre responses they ultimately re-opened my account.
They had deleted ALL of my emails.
Gone forever.
No explination.
Disgusting.

if there is any doubt weather google keeps record of not only gmail, but everything that an ip adress searches on google, then i suggest u watch "the world according to google" it comes right out of the staff members mouth, and the responce is pretty clear. YES everything you have ever typed,or viewed while using a Google program has been stored and can be accessed at any time by who ever has athourity.
