Today orkut has made changes to the layout and alignment

Everything seem to be aligned perfectly , the buttons design has been changed.

the community search page also changed ..

all the changes seem like they are optimizing the interface to place some ads.
yes they are really going to place they ads

what is your suggestion ?

it does look like they may be readying the layout for ads.

if google are going to use this for their major social space product i think the really need to chnage the name. or at least have an english name and keep that for the south americans where it seems to have a lot of traffic coming from.

i want google to change the interface.. like all google interface orkut is different

they should use the same theme. so it will be unique you see....

Certainly looks like it. Also they should step up competition against Myspace, and start integration with products like Bookmarks (sharing with friends), Video and Notebook.

In order to compete, they need to open it up to new users. So far, don't you have to get an invite from someone that already has it?

You do Tony, but that's the fun part. Google is making people feel like they're special or something with an invite. Also when you go around asking people for invites it also increases the Buzz around the product.
