Hello guys,
I'd like to share with you my brand new project: Google Planet (http://planet-google.com)
I'd really like to propagate the idea of one 'hub site', that points to other webpages with an interesting Google related content.
Planet Google automatically serves fresh news collected every hour from both official and unofficial Google websites, portals & popular blogs.
Planet Google is great for people, who want to track every info about the most popular search engine and other Google's products. I use it as an editor (it saves a lot of my time!) RSS option makes reading & tracking easier than ever. (RSS feed is updated every 60 minutes). Simple and useful... just like Google! :-)
Currently Planet Google supports two languages: English and Polish. And here is the task for you, guys.
Please, do not hesitate to contact me (gmail.com konieczny) if you want your language to be supported – I'll be more than happy to create another local version of Planet Google (in a form of subdomain).
Moreover, let me know if I forgot to add any of the interesting sources that often write about Google.(I tried however, to spot all of your weblogs ;-)
So, please, feel free to post here URLs of sites/blogs related to Google, written in ANY language.
Thanks! |
Ugh, URL was pared with ")"... Here is the right one:

Why do I need a Planet Google if I can read it on Google Reader? http://www.google.com/reader/view/user/10949413115399023739/label/officialgoogleblogs-all |
Haochi: Some people prefer web browsing rather than using RSS clients. Others, have favourite RSS reader that is different from Google Reader. Finally, can you share your feeds (opml?) from google reader, so that everyone can use your news collection? |
are you sure you are only collecting rss that is created under CC and sharealike ??
|
Pd: I did my best but I'm not 100% sure.Anyway, I will remove a source immediately, if only its owner requests to do so. |
John Battle's Battle Media, "All contents copyright". |
Haochi: Thanks, removed! I'll write to John, maybe we will come to some kind of agreement.
But let's back to the main topic of this discussion: Do you know good Google related websites, particularly in German or Chinese (Japanese)?
I'd like to start another language version before official premiere, but obviously don't know German/Japanese :)

Nice work, but is it really brand new? I've read about this on Gandalf's blog in March... http://diary.e-gandalf.net/2006/03/03/google-planet/ |
nice layout... which feedparser do you use? |
Chinese: Williamlong.info Spanish: ojobuscador.com and of course, my blog Googlified.com. These are all under CC licenses as I post. |
Corsin, Haochi: Thanks! I will try to find more blogs/websites on Technorati and prepare initial Chinese, Spanish & German versions for tomorrow.
Ludwik: It was advertised only on Jogger, to check people reaction and test RSS polling.
Stefan: Planetplanet with some python adjustments made by myself.
|
Piotr: Just keepin trolling and adding content .. I'll keepmy eyes open and send you urls too
I think this is a nice landing page |
/pd: Thanks!
(I hope first-draw of Spanish, German & Chinese sites will run tomorrow)

OK, here's how things 'are cooking' right now:
I prepared *five* language versions (well, did my best, being able to speak only in English, Polish & Google Translatish ;-).
I was speaking with some bloggers listed on Planet Google – they are very enthusiastic about the project (including John Battelle, who did give permission to use his feed! Hurray!).
So, it's time to start spreading the news about Planet Google :) (I prepared the fancy button specially for this occasion).
Prepare your RSS readers guys, Planet Google is coming! :-o
http://planet-google.com – Use it, read it, love it!
Enjoy!
PS: And suggest the sources pls! Especially in German/Chinese/Spanish! |
