I don't believe "posters that made it to the frontpage" must necessarily have huge relevance. Could be, but it could also be that those are simply the quickest or best-connected submitters. What if other submitters submit the same thing 1 minute later? Many (most?) stories that make it to the frontpage have lots of dupes in the "backyard".
