The server has been down for hours today with me trying to resolve the issue. I think it was the fact that the Click Survey got farked (fark.com). There were ~3,500 requests in just a single minute I measured, at 15:20... and even though the database connection is disabled, that took the server down, I think.

I disabled the survey now and hope for the best...
If you can read this, then apparently it worked.
