It looked to me that the plant grows as it finds links at the given URL.

for example the URL of the page itself(organichtml.com/flash/) grows a single branch.. now try www.yahoo.com...

It appears to use the colors similar to those found in the website HTML (although not from the CSS) to color the plant.
