I wonder how long it takes to "dot" these pixel avatars. |
Philipp Lenssen | 17 years ago # |
Took me around 1 month, several hours daily :) |

My objective was to make them look like, I think, early Final Fantasy sprites. |

Those are very nice ones Philipp!
PS: It remids me those sleepless nights spent in front of my TV with a one-button jojstick and a big black non-name TV-GAMES box :-) |

it looks like the first Prince of Persia MS-dos game i played (my first computer game) |
/pd | 17 years ago # |
Prince of Persia.. was that not like circa 94 ? |
Splasho | 17 years ago # |
Thanks a lot for releasing them! I'm sure they'll be useful for projects.
Grammar ;) : 'The game (“Last Guardian”) didn’t win, and I didn’t use the sprites since then' should be 'The game (“Last Guardian”) didn’t win, and I haven't used the sprites since then' |

Thanks Splasho :) |

Really nice Philipp! Thanks for sharing this! Also, I think you sould include an readme file expliciting what CC license you released the sprites.
|
Philipp Lenssen | 17 years ago # |
Tiago, actually I did... admittedly, it'll be the last file if you sort by name. |
Nochnoy | 17 years ago # |
Thanks! I'll use them for avatars on my forum! |
/pd | 17 years ago # |

Those sprites make me dream of my old C64. Those were the peek- & pokedays when it was fantastic if we could make appear those sprites above the outerborders of the screen.
All you youngster in this forum have missed that fantastic feeling ;-) |

Prince of Persia had one of the best character animations of its time...
Does anyone else read RetroGamer? |

Wonderful stuff! I'm suprised these didn't win really, i love attempting to make little games using free game creation software and these sprites were exactly what i was looking for :) |
