I think that's quite fast, but I'm sure some of you out there can do much better!

(BTW I think the only relevant metric is cpm and not wpm but I'm not sure, maybe there is something as a fixed conversion between both...)

I use two or three fingers of each hand. My hands are OK I just never learned how to type with 10 fingers. I once saw a woman type with 10 fingers, her speed was totally amazing.

I think I tried this back in 1997 and it was pretty poor. Great fun to play with though! (Of course, I assume it's much better these days...)

I taught myself how to type when my family bought our first computer. This was when I was 8 years old... so I've been typing for 14-15 years. LOL I put my favourite books beside me and tried to type all the stories without looking at the keyboard. When I was 8, I REALLY liked the sounds that the keyboard made when I pressed on the keys, but now I hate the sounds. I want to get a soft keyboard that doesn't make any noise when I type. =Op

Every year you continue typing your speed will increase... at least that happened for me.

My typing speed increased when I was at uni and had several assignments to do whilst also having 8 to 10 IM chat windows open at the same time... ;-) (And if I didn't type fast, I would miss last orders at the pub!)

The timed test that they give you here is ok, but it's not the best ive seen. Here, I got (with 6 mistakes) 64.98 wpm. For me, that's comparativly slow, considering that I usually get between 85-90 wpm. I get my best results at www. powertyping.com. Well, that's enough commenting for one day.

I type with 10 fingers. I play the piano with 10 fingers. Kids finger paint with 10 fingers. When people ask me how many fingers I have, I answer "10" and I think most people would say, "I have 10 fingers.".

I consider a thumb a finger and that "thumb" is a name for a short stubby finger that is next to an index finger. Also, when you talk about your "middle finger", you imply that you have an odd number of fingers on your hand – 5, hence, the thumb is considered a finger.

This issue of whether a thumb should be considered a finger is debatable.

Also, there is absolutely no need to call people "retarded" and "idiots".
