Does somebody knows wich mail server uses GMAIL?

Sendmail? Postfix? Qmail? Exchange? :-) (ok ok, last one was a joke).

Same question as previous... does somebody know the answer?

I am trying use outlook express with gmail...and I need to the name of their pop3 gmail server.

gmail is web based email and doesn't offer pop3 support. but there actually are applications that allow you to simulate pop3 functionality like gpopper

Hey g-m-a-i-l have just released pop3 support. Go into your g-m-a-i-lsettings and enable it pop.g-m-a-i-l.com , smptp.g-m-a-i-l.com

they use www.pop.gmail.com and www.smtp.gmail.com

All these gmail server names are bull shit .. none of them work .....

yo wats up i had the same problem. just use pop.gmail.com for the incoming POP3 server, and the normal smtp.gmail.com. if you have problems, email me at rydnlogmail.com

you also have to enable pop through the webmail interface. they give you the settings for your account there.

Ok... so here is what you do.

1. log into Gmail and click on Settings in the top right hand corner of the page.
2. go to Forwarding and Pop.
3. Ignore Forwarding and go to POP and tick 'enable pop for all mail'.
4. click on 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the page
5. click on 'Configuration instructions' (in blue)
6. click on Apple Mail and then follow those instructions in your Apple Mail.
