this jus dropped in..
"You're receiving this email because there's been activity in your Picasa Web Albums. Perhaps a person you'd marked as a Favorite has uploaded new photos, or someone has left a comment on one of your photos. Each week, if you have new activity, we'll send a short email like this. If you'd prefer to not receive these notifications (or to receive them more, or less, frequently), click here to change your preference. "
When did googs start notification msg on activity ??
|
Sounds annoying they don't even tell you what happened. |
Sam – The email told me that one person had left a comment and that two people added pictures to their albums and provided links to everything :D |
No no Nate : the point is when did tis become production status ?? |
Oh. Sorry I thought from Peter's message that they just told you that "some activity" was going on. And not what. The details is much better. |
Nate :can you reproduce the kron notice in verbatim ?? Nowhere did it tell me that ; (a)"left a comment " (b) " two people [ok x peeps] added pictures to " or... (c) "provided links "
|
Cool, I did not see that option yesterday.
I wish there was a way to verify if people we invited to view our albums did so.

Nate :check the ..scraps
Scrap#1 : email notice

Scrap#2 : Pointer to Date lag
http://slash.pd.googlepages.com/pic2.png
whats with the lag on updates ?? dah ?? a month later ?-give me a freaking break!! |
I suspect that this notice was more of a catch up and that future notices will be more relevant :D |
if that be the case , then I'll conceed the point.
But I'll still like a "near real time" update to album, jus like flickr does..
lag is just about 40 minutes .on flickr.. why is google taking so long ..leh ike 2 months ?? catching up ?? I'll digress.. I'll conceed .but I want more real time efforts :)- |
I agree pd. Notices' that are two months old are pretty pointless. If Google wants to gain the upper edge I would really like to see near real time updates (I really don't think this is to far fetched) |
=="I really don't think this is to far fetched)"
agreed, lets see :..should I point to you album and comment ? |
posted here :)- pls verify lag time on email notice!!

PD – ok, I checked the setting page again and here are the options <quote> Email Digest * Never Send a Digest * Daily digest * Weekly digest * Monthly digest </quote>
So, Google right now doesn't intended to send out notices on the hour (the best is daily). On the other hand, when I visit my Picasa Web home page I immediately see that you a posted comment.
|
Nate :could you change profile to <<* Daily digest>> pls ??
that means within 48 hrs you s/get email notice!!
then you can change it bck to whatever, when you get the email notification. i would like to really see what is the service options verse industrial strength notifications..
is google actually manging their process as per user options or not ?? |
thank you Nate , just post back here ...tis is certainly an interesting experiment!! |
