For the past year or so we've been reading and writing about a new general purpose web engine from Convera, a leading player in enterprise search especially with the U.S. gov.

This week govmine.com
http://www.govmine.com debuted. It's a beta and needs lots of work. Perhaps most useful at the moment is the fact they offer a cache.

govmine is NOT government centric. They also offer a news and blog engine (powered by RocketNews, perhaps the best part) and an image engine (images also cached).
