Google registered a couple of new domains yesterday.
Listed here: http://www.resourceshelf.com/2006/08/22/more-new-google-domain-registrations/
+ Google-afd.com (also .net) + google-afyd.com (also .net) + googleafd.com (also .net) + googleafyd.com (also .net)
We first thought they might have something to do with the AP project http://www.resourceshelf.com/2006/08/13/google-continues-on-domain-name-registration-spree/ that Google is working on.
However, Garett has posted on the topic and I'll take his analysis seems correct (as it usually is). He believes the domains are related to Google's "AdSense for Domains" program. See: http://blogs.zdnet.com/Google/?p=302
On a related domain note we noticed that Googleyahoo.net and Yahoogoogle.com are registered to Yahoo. In fact, GoogleYahoo.net was registered by Yahoo last week after its previous owner did not renew. YahooGoogle.com has been registered to Yahoo since 2005. Haha GoogleYahoo.net and YahooGoogel.com
Wonder why ?
Does it have something to do with Google being the most searched term on Yahoo. |
