Although winners & runners up can be discussed. It's giving a good overview of some Google services & its competitors. Nothing really new though...

Interesting review. For the most part I agreed with the article, although on spreadsheets I still falter. Things like charts just need to be included. Yes, the collaboration tools are great in Google spreadsheets, but this is still relatively new for spreadsheets; charts have been around for a while. Too me this is still a major stumbling block that puts Zoho in front.

This is the point of why google created it. Google is not trying to simply rebuild these traditional desktop apps for the web. But instead to transfer traditional ways people work with these apps to an internet, web-centric way of doing things. And so, it's more important when working with a spreadsheet on the web to have collaboration than charts, don't you think?

It's a nice read. I agree with Nate too, Zoho is better.

Glad to see others seeing some value in Zoho sheet since P.L. first mentioned in a few months ago.

This week I've been using their new Zoho Show tool. It's a web-based presentation tool. Like Zoho Sheet, impressive.

+ Import PPT or Open Office Files
+ WYSIWIG Editor
+ Even integrate Flickr images into presentations.
This page explains using it to give a remote presentation.

Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that Google thinks outside the box and tries to innovate where other don't. I really do love the collaboration feature, but just as with gmail, there's still features that I would like to have. When I present Google spreadsheets to a novice user who only knows excel and explain how he/she can get a collaboration of people to work on a spreadsheet in real time, I know it'll make a great selling point; a week later though, he/she is bound to come back to me asking me how to put a chart in for their presentation to the boss. Opps, sorry, that feature isn't integrated yet. You'll have to export it to excel and add the chart :(
