It's now at http://www.google.com/dirhp – I wonder if "dirhp" means "Directory – High Performance"? |
I wonder why they just don't redirect?

I'm sure there's sarcasm there ;-) ... but just in case not, I think the "hp" stands for "Home Page" ... as it does for these:
Web Home Page: http://www.google.com/webhp Images Home Page: http://www.google.com/imghp News Home Page: http://www.google.com/nwshp Maps Home Page: http://www.google.com/maphp Books Home Page: http://www.google.com/bkshp Froogle Home Page: http://www.google.com/frghp Groups Home Page: http://www.google.com/grphp
etc. |
A text book at our school said go to www.google.com and click the tab labled "directory". I was the only one who got the answer to a later question because I went to directory.google.com |
dmoz.org would've worked just fine |
