I think I saw a thread on this earlier about Google Desktop, but now i'm also noticing in the Preferences tab of Google Pack they have a section called Search Settings.

Search Settings

   ___ Set and keep Search settings to Google
   ___ Notify me on settings change.

The thing I don't like though is they are both checked by default. I think this goes to show how valuable default browser search is.
