Court decided that Google has to remove archived news from German & French language news papers in Belgium. Linking is allowed, caching for archiving purpose not...

Haochi had it already on http://googlified.com/2006google-ordered-to-remove-belgian-news/

About Philipp's writing on the frontpage article. It seems to be the archived (or cached if you wish) content that is the problem. Court didn't deceide really on the linked content.

The problem is that the cached content isn't controlled anymore by the publishers. So if the content disappears on their site, it's still available on Google News, and they have a problem with that they say.

A bit short sighted I think...

Note also that the Flemish publishers didn't take part in the court case... (Belgium has three regions that speaks resp. Flemish (i.e. ~ Dutch), French and German... (And let's not forget all those europeans in Brussels that speaks english, but that isn't an official language yet...)
