Google Video now adds a "Send link to a friend"/ "Post to Blog/ MySpace" buttons box at the end of videos. I think this is new...

Yes that is new as far as I am aware. At least under a week old. Not sure why it is needed. There are links to do this in the sidebar. I think YouTube's approach of having "more videos you might want to see" appear at the end probably works better. I often click on them and watch more.

... presumably because this will also start to appear when people embed the video in their website? (It doesn't seem to do it now but it will no doubt follow soon.) Doesn't YouTube do something like this too?

YouTube now ends with similar videos that the user might be interested in.. which makes more sense.

google's video ranking depends a lot on networking the video with links and email etc. so now at the end of a video a bubble pop's up with the option to either email the video to a friends or blog/post to myspace (embed the html)

If you watch a video on google video, at the end you see this page: http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/9828/gvideome2.jpg saying "Send link to a friend" and "Post to Blog/Myspace"

Anyone who visited Google Video in the last 2 weeks saw that...
