I don't know if this is new, but Google Groups no longer has the beta tag. http://groups.google.com Think that makes 12 non beta products now |
Hah – well found, mate. Shame it's not one of their better ones. |
Google Groups was "out of beta" before, of course.
It's only when they introduced the "Google Groups 2" interface (which, it seems to me, most people don't like as much) that they went back into beta again. |
someone should update this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Groups
Roger, what Google Groups 2? you got a picture? |
you meant this page for example?? http://michael-prokop.at/blog/2004/07/09/google-groups-2-beta/ |
David: Beta message removed. |
To be honest, I'd forgotten it was still in beta! They stopped using the groups-beta.google.com domain quite a while back. |
13 august 2006 : no "beta" on the logo : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Google-Groups-Listview.png
I use google groups every day, and I don't remember a change in the logo so this must be an old news sorry |
I think TOMHTML is right. |
<< David: Beta message removed. >>
i know.. i meant the Google Groups 2 |
David: For a while the Google Groups 2 interface was only accessible through labs.google.com, then eventually they changed the main Groups pages to use the Groups 2 interface (which is now "out of beta").
Here's a reference to "Groups 2" as being a "graduate of labs": http://labs.google.com/
You can't access the old labs pages in the wayback machine because they're blocked via Google's robots.txt. |
Don't digg it : http://digg.com/tech_news/Google_Groups_Strips_Beta_Tag
BTW, they didn't remove the "beta" here : http://groups.google.com/support |
David: I meant on the Wiki article. |
TOMHTML, sorry, i was the one that submitted that article. i thought it was quite exciting :-P |
