BTW, the logo usually shows to the left of the search box on the Personalized Home page, so your arrow's pointing to the wrong place... ;-) |

I think this is a new feature: more space for the **** gadgets. BTW, what kind of personalized homepage is this? You can't change the colors, fonts, layout, background (at least not in an easy way). |

Better? Why? Every service should have a logo. It´s question of identification, image etc. If you argued that now you have more space for other things – yes but you could do that with everything – webmail, classic search etc. Logo is useless. |
I just created a module that will bring back the Google logo – and you can edit the module options so that it shows any other logo, too:
