Over on ResourceShelf, http://www.resourceshelf.com/2006/10/01/the-word-mashup-key-to-newly-registered-google-domain-names/
I've posted a long list of new domains registerd by Google late last week involving the world "mashup" and search.
Contest? New personalized search service? Who knows.
Here are a few of the domains. You'll also see that one important one is still registered to a person in Kentucky.
The full list of domains is part of the ResourceShelf post.
mashupssearch.com/net/org search-mash.com/net/org search-mashes.com/net/org search-mashup.com/net/org search-mashups.com/net/org searchmashup/net/org are registered to Google Inc.
Note: searchmashup.com** ** searchmashup.com is still registered to a person in Kentucky and registered in 2005. Of course, there are several methods Google could use to attempt to get control of the domain.
For example, as Google Checkout was launching GoogleCheckout.com was transferred to Google after a UDRP claim with the National Arbitration Forum. Here's the decision. http://domains.adrforum.com/domains/decisions/726096.htm |
Searching Google Maps Mashups maybe ? |
Excellent point Sohil!
Search other mashups and then perhaps also offer with a personalized engine. Just wondering, would someone at Google need to approve each mash-up? How would "mash spam" be avoided?

Well I guess the process could be similar to Coop. |
