Well, yesterday I posted about the pagerank of Google Blogoscoped where blogoscoped got the PR 8 :)
Then I thought of checking the pagerank of my blog....I was under the impression that my blog has pagerank of 2 but when I checked my pagerank through this URL : http://pr.blogflux.com/, I found out that my pagerank is 3 but only when I check the URL as http://reviewsaurus.com but when I check the pagerank of http://www.reviewsaurus.com then my pagerank goes down to 2.
So, my question is that even though the page is same and the domain is exactly the same then whe is there a difference in the pagerank? Is it a fault in the pagerank system? |
You are hitting on different datacenters, I assume: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/new-toolbar-pageranks-visible/ |
So you mean to say that after some time my page rank will be 3?
I checked the pagerank on http://livepr.raketforskning.com/ for all different data centers....and it showed 3 on some of them and 2 on some....so you think that it may become 3 for both the URLs in some time from now |
To Google, the www and non-www domains are different, even if they have the same content. Assuming that is the reason for this behavior, you can do one of a few things.
1. Do a 301 redirect from one sub-domain to the preferred one. 2. Sign up at http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ and set your preferred domain. |
