Quote from Google Blog,
"Soon we plan to begin installation of 1.6 megawatts of solar photovoltaic panels at our Mountain View campus. This project will be the largest solar installation on any corporate campus in the U.S., and we think it's one of the largest on any corporate site in the world."

Rad. Now, when their friends at NanoSolar get production started, they can start covering their datacenters as well :). I imagine datacenters (the ones that aren't in large cities) have large flat roofs, like a big warehouse. There is a lot of potential for power generation there, but I'm sure it'll only cover a small fraction of the what those facilities need. However, one benefit is that during a power outage, the solar would help them save fuel by providing additional emergency power.

The power suppliers aren't going to be too happy about it... Saving 300K+ a year... Wow.
