I just optimized the print stylesheet a bit, you get somewhat good results in Opera 8/ 9 and IE7... |
Just having fun.
A search of the Google News Archive Timeline for the term "Google" shows hits back as far back as the 1890's and ending in 1960. Nothing about the search company. http://news.google.com/archivesearch?q=google&sa=N&lnav=m&scoring=t
Sergey begins in 2000. Better http://news.google.com/archivesearch?q=sergey+brin&btnG=Search+Archives&scoring=t
WIth quotes "Larry Page" MUCH better: http://news.google.com/archivesearch?q=%22larry+page%22&btnG=Search+Archives&scoring=t
Google Corporation http://news.google.com/archivesearch?q=%22Google+Corporation%22&btnG=Search+Archives&scoring=t in 2005.
Google Stanford Is good but begins with a few false drops in the 1930's with stories about Stanford Football. http://news.google.com/archivesearch?scoring=t&q=google+stanford
Google Inc.(formed Sept, 1998) http://news.google.com/archivesearch?q=google+inc.+&btnG=Search+Archives&scoring=t has nothing before 2004. |
This is awesome! There are two typos that I caught, though:
In "The Lesser Nockit", 'Whic' should be 'Which'
In "The Gogo", 'no on' should be 'no one'
unless you're preserving typos in the original? If so a note about that would probably be good. |
No no, those are my typos, thanks, fixed! |
/pd: I've put a PDF version of Philip's The Google Book page on my site (so sorry about the non Google Book links). Be warned it comes out at 1Mb.
The link is http://www.empuriabravaonline.com/googlebook.php
Enjoy |
So now, no one should blame for naming our kid Google kai. |
Thank you so much for posting this! It was one of my favourite childhood books and is away in a box somewhere for when I have children. |
