The more I hear, the more I see the world falling apart. The truth is always hidden.
http://ask.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/07/07/1242252 Dr. Stephen Hawking asked, 'How can the human race survive the next hundred years?' and he received about 15000 answers to the question. But is there really that much hope that anything will work?
With the political, social, economic, and environmental issues we face, the change of us surviving is slim. How will we manage our growing population and govern people? Will people be forced to give up freedom and liberty as we know it?
http://ted.com/tedtalks/tedtalksplayer.cfm?key=d_deutsch In a TED Talk, David Deutsch, mentions Martin Reece's opinion that civilization has about a 50% chance of surviving the next century. He also talks about how currently in our situation with global warming, our efforts to stop it can at most only delay the inevitable but we can survive if we solve the problems that will be brought upon us.

Information manipulation is so easy, any side can do it, so how can we know who to believe? There is only one way, and that is for everyone to be able to see the truth for themselves. Is it possible, to move the world to achieve total government, media, and market transparency-- true democracy? Can we have complete freedom of information?
Or are we doomed to the fate this image represents from a former Google Pick video? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4474347625309403979&q=democracy |
A completely open-source model of the world. |
> Information manipulation is so easy, any side can do it, > so how can we know who to believe?
That's a question only you yourself can answer – if anyone else answers it, you wouldn't know whether or not trust them in the first place.
But yes, the environment seems to be in a crisis and most of the world's leaders and mainstream opinions don't seem to cover this enough and act upon it (quite the opposite, at times). |
If there is complete freedom-- humanity will not need governments!!
|
Well not a government as we know government to be today. |
