It used to be possible to do the following:
site:gov|mil manpower
But this is no longer the case, unfortunately. It is easy to see why it is a useful search, so is there an equivalent method? Given that Google Code allows you to use regular expressions (#15 on my list of annoying things about Google [1]), I would like to see Google put some of their programming language experts to work on their parser.

Try site:gov OR site:mil manpower |
Ahh! Well I had tried what used to be an equivalent form:
site:gov|site:mil manpower
but now you must insert a space:
site:gov | site:mil manpower
Am I getting old, or was that a completely unnecessary change...
