Why all of a sudden do I get this box? and why would it show an outdated hotmail address as one of two options, an address i havent used in years, and never ever associated with Gmail?

I do not get it.

I think I figured it out. I have been using FF2 the last few days (gasp) and when I started IE6, I noticed the little green sign in button on the toolbar was grayed out. I think that did it.

I've never seen any Google site use authentication like this – not even Google Toolbar. Anyway, you can edit / delete the login details stored for different sites using this type of authentication under Windows XP:

Control Panel > User Accounts > Advanced > Manage Passwords

I have. It's for Gmail Notifier.
