List of engineers at google that also work on popular open source packages.

"The table on the right, lists some of Google's eclectic mix of open source luminaries grouped by project. No doubt I've forgotten some, so don't hesitate to contact me with corrections/additions."

Help out if you happen to know any not on the list.

Eric Schmidt still works on lex? The same E Schmidt that wrote ""Lex – A Lexical Analyzer Generator" in UNIX Programmer's Manual 2, AT&T Bell Laboratories, together with M E Lesk back in 1975? Wow!

Yes I guess it was 30 years ago since Eric Schmidt worked on Lex, but I thought it was interesting since he is the CEO :)

RB: Thanks for the background/link. That he had worked on lex actually caught my eye . I figured this was something he had done in his EE days. We used Flex/JCUP in school when developing compilers and also in discrete math. These can be pretty powerful tools. Good to know he helped make a (or at least jump started a) fundamental contribution to computer science beyond the business role that we see him in today (also Novell and Sun).

Looks like he has bell labs and Parc under his belt as well. Good stuff.
