If your site is currently included in Google News, you can now create News Sitemaps that tell us exactly which articles to crawl for inclusion in Google News. In addition, you can access crawl errors, which tell you if there were any problems crawling the articles in your News Sitemaps, or, for that matter, any articles on your site that Google News reaches through its normal crawl.

Currently this in only available in English. One neat feature is the ability to view the queries that brought people to view your stories in the first place

Webmaster tools also offer publishers detailed information on the types of queries that lead visitors to various pages on a website, which can be helpful for understanding user information needs and access patterns.

They said "We don't include sites that are written and maintained by individuals. We also don't include sites which don't have an editorial review policy."

It's funny 'cause this blog is written and edited by many people... those approving posts (Tony and me), those blogging (several of us), those fact-checking the posts (commenters), those sending tips via email or in the forum, etc. Sure, this is no mainstream organization, but then again they include many other blogs too.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, "News" is so broad, it should never be tied-down to large companies. News is a medium. Blogging and forum posts are one way of delivering that medium to the reader.
