You can now "scroll" pages and zoom in.

Yeah the Viewing page has a new Google Book Search logo. I forgot to post about that before.

There's a full write up from Google on all the new features for Google Book Search at the Google blog

http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2006/11/new-way-to-browse-books.html

Here's a couple highlights
*Not only is there the new zoom feature, but theres also a full screen button
*One and Two page views, without page reloads; continuous feeds.
*Grab and wheel scroll added
*Improved related, citation and reference features

Try this book for an example

It even works on the French, German, Italian, Spanish, etc. versions of Google Books :-)

I saw this yesterday, but I didn't know it was new. I immediately knew that I liked it, though. :)

There are just two main features/improvements that I would ask Google to make. The first would be to improve the "Search Inside the Book," which doesn't seem to pick up all the instances a word or phrase appears, and which isn't good at all at finding two words that are not adjacent but just close together. The second would be to add horizontal scrolling. Why limit yourself to two pages like a traditional book when you can scroll the entire book?

very impressive interface! nice change.

note sure if this was there before, (maybe it was), but your search term is highlighted in yellow within the book text itself:

must be some fairly advanced optical character recognition going on there. wow.

its very nice if you go into two-page mode – it looks like a book!

"Google Launches Web Book Reader" might be also interesting in this context, I am not sure whether it was mentioned on one of the linked pages:
