Google v. newspapers ruling in '07 Source: Reuters http://www.cnn.com/2006/BUSINESS/11/24/belgium.google.ap/index.html
From the article: "Google and Belgian newspapers will hear a court verdict early next year on whether the search engine was wrong to display content from the newspapers' Web sites without paying them or asking their permission, a judge for the Brussels-based Court of First Instance said Friday.
The judge said she would deliver her verdict after the Christmas break without giving a precise date."

I was a bit quick on the submit button.
Important to note that while the case with the newspaper continues, Google has settled with photographers and journalists in Belgium.
From the article: "The agreement removes two of five groups from a Brussels lawsuit that seeks to prevent Google from linking to Belgian newspaper articles for free. Company spokeswoman Jessica Powell declined to give the terms of the agreements with copyright agencies Sofam, which represents 3,700 photographers, and Scam, which represents journalists." |
Northing like working with a connection that keeps going up and down. Apologies.
