As I've said before, I think that the set of neat green boxes that feeds into "Portal" was the outcome of a genuine brainstorming session, much of which has come to pass. When this photo was first published, it was unthinkable to the likes of us that Google would be entering into these application areas, but look what happened.

I like to work from this photo:
http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=45491564&size=l
which seems to have been taken earlier than the main one referred to in the blog post. Here is the list of services:

Email, Finance, Directory, Automotive, Classifieds, Recipes, Web hosting, Tea leaves, Travel, Chat, Health, Casino, Kids, Finance, Feeds, IM, Shopping, TV, Games, Maps, XML, Comics, Gossip, Insur ance, Movies, Reviews, Bulletin Boards, Books, Blogs, Calendar, Smilies, Governmental, Directions, Local Services, Calculator, Photos, Education, Rentals, Translation, Grammar, Phone Numbers, Music, Marketplace, RSS, News, Ski Conditions, MP3, Video, Dating, Real Estate, Di ets, Merchants, Mobile, 3-D, Dictionary, Background Checks, Jobs, Sports, Traffic, Mortga ges

And the best way to keep a secret? Put it out in the open where everyone can see it and scrawl over it and no-one thinks it's serious.

Scorecard:

Well they've sure botched: "Elimination of Evil" by censoring in China. "Google China" must have been misread by Google Bush to read "Censor the hell (and everything else) out of Google China."

In fact, the Master Plan predicts this: "Reality Google" leads directly to "Evil" on the chart! Thus: 'censored Google is better than no Google' (a "reality"-type rationalism) lead right down the slippery path to the exact "Evil" which the Master Planners warned of! Nostradamus and Yoda would say "We told you so".

Their entry for "Browser" could be filled with my "Google Freedom" concept which would use multiple methods to bypass any censorship on the web.

"Orbital Mind Control" Doesn't fit "Elimination of Evil" very well, does it?

"Total information awareness" Interesting they used the exact same name as the Bush administration's original data-mining monster, which continues today under less voracious-sounding names. Are we absolutely sure Google didn't turn over the search records to the government? See orbital mind control above.

Not much left of AOL worth buying except a bunch of ads!

The government is busy implementing "Index all sheep in the universe" by requiring RFID tags on all farm animals within a couple years, plus the predictable huge govermnent database. It's a government power-grab and tax enforcement weapon which will cost farmers (and you the consumer) millions. Perhaps sheep.gov or similar will let you find the sheep near you on Google Earth. Baaaa.

Checking my email, seems somebody beat Google to their entry: "Spam." Not much market demand for more suppliers of Spam at present.

If they put "Buy Mars" at the top of the list, then we'll know they're making progress!

At least sponsor the next generation of Mars Rovers: "Google" and "Blogger"! The rovers could have spray paint systems to paint ads to make AdSense make more cents (wouldn't you pay something to put your message on Mars?).

Oh, yes, most important: Fire those "Rogue Scientists"! Done enough damage already!

[put at-character here]Support Freedom: ... Really, what can I say? Are you simply incapable of taking a joke, or for that matter, a chill pill? Do you have this irrepressible urge to fill any and every topic that has the vaguest connection to human rights with hyperbolic statements, bordering on spam, about the "Evil"-ness of Google?

I'm starting to wonder whether you're a reincarnation of Daniel Brandt, of "Google Watch" fame, slipping in under a human-rights banner. Not seriously wondering, yet, but the nature and tone of your statements certainly remind me of him.

I really don't know why I'm writing this, since I'm rapidly becoming convinced you don't even follow up on most of your own statements and threads. Must be the lack of sleep...
