How can I invite someone to gmail that does not already have an e-mail account? Weird question I guess.

Invite yourself (using ur own email address) then fill up the form and create the new gmail for him..

I didnt know you could do this.

Any chance if they did something wrong, it could come back and bite me in the butt?

You could use a temporary mailbox like mailinator.

as ramibotros said you can invite your self ........

or to a wrong email address! So that you will get a failure delivery while all the sent messages are accessible just navigate to sent message and click the link to register

Thanks. I have some relatives that want e-mail. I dont want to have to sign them up for yahoo, then open yahoo, then invite them here from yahoo.

You can also send to blabla[put at-character here]fksfjkdfgdfglsdhfjklsdf.com and grab the invite out of your sent items.
