I wonder what would happen if Google, or anyone else, announced a new scholarship programme that had only men eligible to apply.

Well, you can't deny that there is a painfully small number of women in Computer Science, and it would be nice to see a few more...eg in my department out of 100+ PhD students we are maybe 10%. Sometimes it really gets me down!
