I saw a fourth alternative on my ads the other day. Ads by [Image of Google Logo]. |
I've seen Goooooogle and Google for ages, never seen G [image] or Google [image] |
Hi,
Just want to let everyone know that AdSense ads have been tweaked to include the letter "G" icon.
I saw this for the first time on my site. I wonder how adding this icon will affect clickthrough rates, especially when some webmasters add a row or a column of pictures next to the ads. I am sure the "G" icon will make visitors more aware that they are looking at ads, not another set of navigations.
Here is what the icon looks like: http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/3603/adsenseglogobj7.gif
The icon is located at the bottom of this page: http://freestuffpage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14823

Yes, David that is the kind that I saw. |
If they decide to use the icon ("G") only they coud at least make it look better. The same icon is used in Firefox in the search engines and is just looks ugly. |
If they're gonna stick with one of these, the best option seems to be this one http://blogoscoped.com/forum/78958.html#id79507 . |
I also think the black-and-white Google logo is nice, albeit I hope they make this opt-in (or at least opt-out) if they ever introduce this. |
It showed up again. This time the logo was smaller and much better looking:

I thought there was something wrong with my html files since the ads looked rather odd. |
