Jeremy Zawodny emphasizes that Yahoo was not given this template by Microsoft, but came up with it on their own. But of course it's still possible someone (e.g. Microsoft) sent Google this template without Google realizing it's taken from Yahoo... which I think is incredibly unlikely though. |

Ask, Yahoo and MSN also arguably ripped off Google Maps' design, though I don't expect them to take their Maps offline – but hey, that's good for innovation, let evolution shape these things by copying + random mutation :) |
