I've just finished coding my variant of this idea.

justinflavin.com/tagsoup/tagso ...

I work for an online financial bookshop, so i grabbed our 500 latest booktitles , and sent each title through the Yahoo content analysis service. This allowed me to then "tag" each one of those 500 book titles.

The point of this exercise is just to show that you can "taggify" your existing web content and present a radically different way of looking at your site to your visitors.

to do: size emphasis of the most popular tags isnt quite right just yet...

just posted up my rss variant of the "tag soup" idea..

it's got a tech slant, as its pulling feeds like slashot, bbc tech and such like..

its not auto-updating yet, so the news wont be fresh tommorow, but i'm going to implement an hourly cron job that will update the tags with fresh rss info.

my rss tagsoup app now auto-updates itself every hour.

quite interesting this tagsoup idea – i find myself visiting news stories that wouldn't normal visit, purely just out of curiosity

"hmmm.. thats a strange keyword – i wonder what the story is behind that?"

Philip – if you want the code behind this, mail me or just leave a comment in my blog. Cheers.
