Google Maps API imposes restrictions

Do you use the geocoding feature in the Google Maps API? Well, if you do and your mashup is popular, be prepared to see some outages. Google has capped geocode queries to 50,000 per day – that works out to one about every 1.7 seconds – surely not enough to sustain a mashup that heavily relies on that feature. http://blogs.zdnet.com/Google/?p=429

Yahoo's Geocoding service is limited to 5,000 queries per IP address per day.

If the mashup is popular, should consider using the Google Maps for Enterprise, I think it provides more.

I guess the obvious reason someone would not use the enterprise version is the cost – it's very expensive, especially if your mashup is non-commercial and publicly available.
